Artists: Sell Your Work
Make the same or larger commission on your work than you would at a physical gallery while also helping students in need.
How it works:
Donate a work of art (in any media) to the 50/50 Gallery and establish the sales price of your work. If your artwork does not sell within 120 days you can replace it with new work or request its return.
The Foundation promotes your work though the 50/50 Gallery on the Foundation homepage, at events, in newsletters, and though the Foundation Board.
When your work sells you will receive 50% of the sales price. The other half will be deposited in the Foundation scholarship fund.
What’s in it for you?
This is a great way to promote your work while supporting the next generation of artists and designers. Your work will be exhibited at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. This prestigious private college hosts several major exhibitions a year, and is a key part of the Denver art community. The college also hosts meetings and conferences on campus for art and design professionals from all over the country.
This is your chance to make a difference in someone’s life who might not otherwise be able to achieve their goal of being a professional artist.
The Logistics:
Please drop off your work at RMCAD (1600 Pierce Street, Lakewood, Colorado) at the Texas Building. The Foundation will insure the work for up to xxx dollars (I’m not sure what was decided about insurance). The Foundation will display the work on campus, the internet, and other venues.
You may also promote your work to the general public while it is displayed on campus.
The Foundation will issue a check for 50% of the sales price within 10 business days of the sale.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, portfolio and essay submissions throughout the year.
Please contact Foundation Curator Courtney Stell at curator@steelefoundation.org for more information about the program.
